Author Guidelines

Palanta welcomes original theoretical, empirical, conceptual, and interdisciplinary manuscripts within the social sciences and humanities, especially studies that connect locality, culture, indigenous or local knowledge, community practices, and social transformation with wider academic conversations.

Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English. The main manuscript should contain at least 7,000 words, excluding abstracts, references, tables, figures, and appendices. The title should contain no more than 12 words. Provide Indonesian and English abstracts of 200–250 words each and 3–5 keywords in each language.

Use the journal article template and structure the manuscript with an Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, optional Acknowledgements, and References. References must follow APA 7th Edition, with active DOI or URL information where available.

Submissions must be original, ethically prepared, approved by all listed authors, and not simultaneously under consideration elsewhere. Permissions must be obtained for copyrighted third-party material, and relevant conflicts of interest, funding, and research-ethics information must be disclosed.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
